Katie Meng, the chief of Sydney Ming Yi Tang TCM Centre, is an experienced herbal medicine practitioner and acupuncturist. She learnt clinical medicine in the 1980s and then worked as a researcher after graduation. Around the turn of the millennium, she found traditional Chinese medicine to be an effective method for holistic healing and decided to change her career. She studied at the Henan University of Chinese Medicine and earned a bachelor degree. Now she is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association and a registered member of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia.
With continuous learning and practicing, Kaite found that more and more patients rely on herbal medicine as a comprehensive way to manage and support their cancer journey which is littered with all kinds of side effects. She sets her main research direction to this field and with nearly 20 years of experience, she is accustomed with theories of both modern and traditional medicine and is good at using a combination of method of herbal medicine and acupuncture for the holistic support and management of those who are suffering from cancer. Besides working together with Dr. Zhong Li in traditional Chinese medicine oncology, she is also interested in helping patients with pain management, chronic fatigue, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, weight loss, just to name a few.
